My goal is to create a truly beautiful work of art that will represent you or your choice of subject in a realistic and characteristic way.

Once the decision has been made to have an oil portrait painted the first step if possible, will be to meet and discuss the specifics of your portrait. We will next set up a time for a photo session and work out poses. We will choose the photo to work from. Some sittings from life would be an advantage to work in the fine details and coloration.

If you live too far to meet in person the painting could be done from photographs. But please make sure the photo you want to work from is clear and large enough to see details. Possibly some additional close up detail photos of the subject would be helpful.

A contract to commission the portrait including such specifics as size, subject matter, payment and delivery will be signed at the first meeting. A non-refundable 50% down payment will be made at the approval of the chosen pose and photo, the balance to be paid at the completion of the portrait.
