Born in Chicago, Jerrilyn Augustis was raised and educated in Los Angeles California. She studied art at U.C.L.A., S.M.C., and with private master teachers.

Jerrilyn paints beautifully sensitive portraits and figure studies in oil. Her portraits not only tell us what her subjects look like, but also who they are and what they may be feeling. The choice of subdued palette and graduated values render a gentle, realistic and truly beautiful painting.

Ms. Augustis is currently living and painting in San Francisco and her work is on display in many Northern and Southern California galleries. She shares a lovely seaside home with her husband and their much-loved Whippet, Saluki and two cats.
